'My brand new project Ochi-Kochi 遠近をちこち Concert Series starts on Friday, July 8th at Tenri Cultural Institute at Union Square. "Ochi遠" means far or past, and "Kochi近" means near or present in classic Japanese language. I would like to bring never-heard-of musical sound yet somehow nostalgic, and there is always traditional performing forms to respect. All arts has been contemporary- see what becomes traditional in next decades. As a kick starter, we have Toshinori Hamada , Japanese traditional performing art form "Noh" trained actor, and Kaoru Watanabe, who makes pioneer works of Japanese taiko and flutes. Please come and see us, and enjoy the moment of creations.' - Sumie Kaneko
