Kaoru Watanabe's Ne-O Ensemble uses primarily Japanese instruments such as the taiko drums and shinobue and not kan flutes to perform a diverse repertoire of music- drawing  heavily from traditional Japanese festival and theater music and jazz, with structured improvisations being a key component to the music. For this show, Ne-O will be performing mostly new works and will feature first time collaborator Shoko Nagai on keyboards and electronics.
