Elena Moon Park
Elena Moon Park is a musician and educator living in Brooklyn, NY. Since 2006 she has toured with Brooklyn-based all-ages folk rock band Dan Zanes and Friends, playing fiddle, trumpet, mandolin, spoons, ukulele, and singing. She is also a freelance musician in NYC specializing in contemporary classical music. In addition to her music, Elena manages programs for Found Sound Nation, a network of artists who design and lead socially-engaged music projects, including the OneBeat international music exchange. Elena’s album Rabbit Days and Dumplings is a collection of reimagined folk & children’s songs from East Asia: a fun mixture of songs, styles, traditions, languages, instrumentation and stories that grew out of conversations with friends and family about favorite songs that linger in their memories. It is also an expression of deep respect for families who have made tough journeys of any kind – across borders or cultures or hardships – in search of opportunity and happiness.
